Who We Are

When a public safety officer’s life is taken in the line of duty, surviving family members are entitled to federal, state, and local level benefits. Realizing these benefits; however, can be quite a daunting task.

 

Public Safety Survivor Benefits, LLC (PSSB) is comprised of former public Safety officers with over 20 years of public service and over 15 years of experience recovering death benefits for public safety survivors at the federal, state, and local level. We have experience in testifying in front of the Department of Justice while defending the rights of public safety survivors. Our cases typically involve firefighters and law enforcement officers; in recent news, the emergence of new laws that protect non-government employees, such as emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics, has broadened our scope of service. We are committed to serving the families of these fallen heroes.

We Are Here For You

Our definition of a survivor is defined as a husband, wife or significant other, legal children including adopted and stepchildren, and one or both parents who were alive at the time of death. There are a few provisions that may allow a benefit to a child that isn’t on paper as legally bonded but did receive support from the fallen firefighter, fallen Law Enforcement Officer, or fallen EMT.

 

We serve the families first, regardless if it is directly related to you or through a labor organization or department. We offer our services to career and volunteer firefighters, police officers, other law enforcement, disaster workers and emergency workers. Our members are seasoned professionals who are devoted to guiding the survivors of public safety officers through the various pitfalls associated with accessing Public Safety Officers’ Benefits.
